Who we are
This policy describes how ProfesorIA (hereinafter, "we", "the service") processes the personal data it collects through the website iaprofesor.com. ProfesorIA is an AI-powered educational platform aimed at Spanish-speaking teachers and educators.
We comply with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), the Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on Personal Data Protection (LOPDGDD), and Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services (LSSI-CE).
Data we collect
1. Web analytics (Plausible)
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly tool that does not set cookies and does not collect personally identifiable data. We only measure aggregated, anonymous metrics: pageviews, browser, country, and traffic source.
2. Newsletter form
When you subscribe to the newsletter at /suscripcion.html, we collect:
- Name (the one you choose)
- Email address
This data is processed through MailerLite (data processor), an email marketing platform headquartered in Lithuania (EU). It is used solely to send you the ProfesorIA educational newsletter and, if you expressly accept, occasional teaching resources.
3. AI chatbot
When you interact with the AI Chat or the generation tools, the messages you write are sent to Anthropic (Claude) through our intermediary API to generate a response. We do not store the content of your conversations on our servers: each message is processed in real time and discarded after the response.
Recommendation: do not enter personally identifiable data of students or third parties in the chat (real names, academic records, named grades, etc.). Always use pseudonymised data or generic examples.
4. Advertising
We display ads served by A-ADS, an advertising network that does not track individual users. Ads are served based on the page context, not on the visitor's profile.
Legal basis for processing
- Consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR) for newsletter subscription.
- Performance of a service requested by the user (Art. 6.1.b GDPR) when you use the chatbot or the generation tools.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR) for Plausible's anonymous web analytics and to prevent abuse of the service.
Data retention
- Newsletter: for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we remove your email from the active list within a maximum of 30 days; we may retain it on a legal suppression list (Art. 21 LSSI) for 2 years.
- Chatbot: messages are not stored; they are discarded after the response.
- Plausible: aggregated, anonymous metrics retained for up to 24 months.
- Server logs: truncated IP addresses and technical records for 30 days, for security and diagnostic purposes.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Port your data to another service.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, write to privacidad@iaprofesor.com indicating which right you wish to exercise.
Processing of minors' data
If you are a teacher and plan to share the service with your students:
- Do not enter personally identifiable data of minors in the chatbot or the tools (real names, photos, named grades, academic records).
- Always use pseudonymised examples or fictitious data.
- If your school requires a specific data processing agreement, contact us so we can assess it.
If you believe a minor under 14 has provided us with personal data without the consent of a holder of parental authority, write to privacidad@iaprofesor.com and we will delete that data immediately.
Cookies
Details about cookie usage on iaprofesor.com are available in our Cookie Policy. Plausible Analytics does not use cookies; the chatbot may use session cookies to maintain conversation context.
International transfers
Some of our data processors operate partially outside the European Economic Area:
- Anthropic (AI service, United States): messages are sent under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.
- MailerLite: maintains servers within the European Union (Lithuania).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services, regulations, or practices. The last update date is shown above. For substantial changes we will notify you via the newsletter (if you are subscribed) and/or via a notice on the website.
